Pound cake can be an overlooked dessert. It may not have the bells and whistles of some other desserts but this recipe stopped me in my tracks when I tried it. My mother-in-law Jane served it at a holiday gathering and I told her I was going to add it to my menu. It is the best poundcake I have ever eaten. I made it for my kids and they ate a whole loaf in one day! It’s buttery, moist, flavorful, it is just all-around amazing. You can pair it with fruit, ice cream, toast it with butter or just cut off a slice and eat it plain, you won’t be disappointed.
